Good Samaritan Parish in Burnley is hosting a free two-course Christmas Day dinner in the parish rooms of St Mary’s Church for those who would otherwise be on their own.

St. Catherine’s Christmas Dinner

 

St Catherine’s Church in Burnley is offering its annual free three-course Christmas dinner on Christmas Day to anyone who is on their own or homeless.

The HUB at Padiham

 

The HUB at Padiham will be open on Christmas Day for two hours for people who are lonely. They are invited to enjoy a Christmas sandwich, Baileys or hot chocolate, and a mince pie and to pull a cracker from 11am until 1pm. Transportation can be provided if needed. If you know

someone who lives alone and would like a surprise invite, please contact The HUB at Padiham via its Facebook page.

 

The Loom/The Shift Café

 

Good cheer is in the air thanks to the Alternative Christmas at The Loom and The Shift Café in Burnley. This special event on Christmas Day is for those who may not have anywhere to go. Meet at The Loom in Bank Parade at noon for Christmas dinner and a drink, then head down to The Shift Cafe for a sing and a dance at around 3pm. All the food is free but donations will be welcome. The bar will be open, but you are welcome to bring your own beer. Please message The Loom on Facebook to book for the Christmas lunch.

 

Healthier Heroes CIC

 

Healthier Heroes CIC in Elizabeth Street, Burnley, will be open on Christmas Day to help the homeless and those in need, with support from Curry on The Street. It will open from 6pm at Bancroft House for food, company and to speak with the team. Access is round the back of the building.

Our usual opening days are Tuesdays and Thursdays so our last Drop In before Christmas is Thursday 22nd December (Thursday afternoons from 12.30 are women and children only), and we will resume Drop Ins at 9.30am on Tuesday January 3rd.

Emergency help will be available in office hours on Friday 21st December.

We are closed (as usual) at the weekend 24th and 25th and the 2 bank holidays of 26th and 27th December.

Then we will offer emergency help in office hours on 28th, 29th and 30th December for clients in need and closed over the weekend 31st December and 1st January (as usual).

The Wellsprings is calling on any taxi firms or volunteer drivers to help transport vulnerable people to and from their annual Christmas lunch. The Spanish and Mexican restaurant on Pendle Hill has dedicated a table on Christmas Day for up to 10 elderly people who may be spending it alone. The team is offering a free traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, plus a gift, for those nominated for the table. A free, confidential helpline, staffed by qualified and experienced experts in the domestic abuse sector. It is a new initiative, in that no details will be taken or logged about the caller, making it completely anonymous, unlike most other confidential helplines. These professionals also speak a variety of languages prominent in Lancashire such as English, Punjabi, Urdu. – Open to all. Closes for Christmas on 23rd December taking referrals up to 21st December.

Also having a Wellness Day with food on the 28th December for people who don’t have children. This week is the last week for referrals before Christmas.
