After Care Support Volunteer – Burnley and Accrington

Main Purpose of the Role:-

  • To provide structured support for service users to identify sustainable support pathways in the local and wider communities.
  • To encourage & empower service users to utilise available community support services alongside mutual aid affording them the opportunities to build on their recovery capital
  • To assist with the weekly running of Recovery Support Pods.
  • To be part of a rota system to meet and greet people accessing the Recovery Support Pod.
  • To provide extra support to service users in accessing services such as recovery support including education, training, volunteering, and recovery activities that follow the five ways to well –being.
  • To encourage service users to take up opportunities in work or that can then be built on, referring them to The work Company or helping the service users to achieve individual goals.
  • To actively promote support groups both internally and in the wider community.
  • To support service users at whatever point on their recovery journey they are including those that have achieved abstinence and those that have not.
  • To promote healthier lifestyles and support to engage in other activities to build on their recovery capital.
  • To work with the service user Recovery Support  Champion to assertively link service users with their local and wider communities.

Moving Parents and Children Together (MPACT) Volunteer – Burnley and Accrington

Main Purpose of Role:

  • To Welcome, encourage & empower families to feel comfortable throughout the MPACT sessions
  • To assist & support MPACT facilitators in purchasing & preparing adequate refreshments for the attending families.
  • To assist & support MPACT facilitators in writing, mailing &/or verbally inviting families to an assessment appointment.
  • To assist & support facilitators throughout the MPACT sessions with both children & adults via the use of arts & crafts
  • To assist & support the MPACT facilitators to clear away at the end of sessions & to contribute to the session debriefs
  • To assist & support the MPACT facilitator throughout their delivery of MPACT sessions
  • To assist & support the MPACT facilitator with admin duties to include dealing with enquiries – both verbal & written – from service users, their families, other professionals & the wider community via telephone, mail, text messages &/or e-mail.
  • Typing letters, photocopying and ensuring appropriate materials are readily available to support the MPACT facilitator.
  • To assist & support the MPACT facilitators in arranging, organising, attending & empowering service users & their families to contribute to the review & reunion MPACT sessions.
