It can be hard to know what to do or who to turn to when you think a close relative or friend is drinking too much or taking drugs.
Families and Carers Together (FACT) is here to support families, friends and partners who are affected by someone else’s drug or alcohol use.
We can offer you confidential advice and support to explore your options through assessment, one to one support appointments, access to counselling and access to our peer led support groups.
Inspire Families & Carers own peer led group sessions provide you with the opportunity to speak with people who have been through similar experiences as yourself.
You can also hear occasionally from guest speakers with specialist expertise and explore issues that are directly affecting you through topic focused discussions & workshops.
For more information call the Freephone Fact Helpline Number* – 0800 652 1961 or contact the Accrington Project on 01254 495382 to speak with Maureen Hughes the Family & Carers Lead.
Alternatively join our Family and carers group every Thursday evening from 5:30-7:30pm at Accrington Inspire.
Foundations of Families
We would urge any concerned family member, carer or loved one to attend our information workshop at the Cornerhouse Café in Brierfield where you can find out about all the support available for you as a family member.
Emerging Futures also have trained and accredited Family Coaches who will work 1-2-1 with you to enhance your wellbeing in various areas of your life. On completion of your support, the training will be made available to you to become a coach yourself.
Foundations of Families is a group-work program delivered over 8 sessions designed to educate those in family roles or are affected by the addictive behaviours of a family member. Foundations of Families is about opening the door to creating a peer to peer model for families to come to terms with their experience, build supportive networks, and be able to work through any future addiction issues you may face.
